A family recently relocated due to work which means they lost their established support network of extended family members and trusted babysitters for childcare for their two children, a 3-year-old girl & an 8-year-old boy. Mom and Dad both work full-time, but the children don’t start their new school programs until mid-August.
We worked with the family to create a job listing and began sourcing candidates. In just 3 days, we screened over 15 candidates until we felt confident we found the best candidate. We always interview multiple candidates to find the right one. When it comes to the heavy lifting required for sourcing and vetting a care professional, we do all the work with our team of widely experienced care specialists. Especially in this case, because the family was in the middle of packing and coordinating movers, we made the process as hands-off as possible for the family, including coordinating interview schedules, reviewing resumes, and making recommendations based on the family’s specific needs.
Once we had that strong candidate, we scheduled time for the family to interview our recommended placement. The family was impressed with the candidate; a full-time teacher who nannies during the summer to keep busy while making additional income.
After we got the approval from the family, we began finalizing our screening process on behalf of the family, which included running a criminal background check, a driving record check, a social media screen, and reference checks.
With less than 2 weeks' notice, we were able to successfully find a qualified temporary nanny for the family. The nanny began working with the family on Monday, July 20th.
